Verizon uses CDMA-era star codes — different from the GSM MMI codes used by AT&T and T-Mobile. The same codes apply on Xfinity Mobile, Visible, Spectrum Mobile, and Total by Verizon, all of which run on Verizon's network.
The same codes work on Xfinity Mobile, Visible, Spectrum Mobile, Total by Verizon (MVNOs running on Verizon's network).
Working codes for Verizon
- Forward all calls (CFU):
*72NUMBER - Forward when no answer (CFNA):
*71NUMBER - Forward when busy (CFB):
*90NUMBER - Cancel all forwarding:
*73
Replace NUMBER with the destination phone number (e.g. your VettedCalls extension). Dial the code from your regular phone keypad and press send. Listen for a confirmation tone.
Troubleshooting Verizon forwarding
- No confirmation tone? CDMA forwarding doesn't always play a confirmation. The call you make to set up forwarding immediately disconnects — that's normal. Test by having a non-contact call you.
- Codes don't work on my plan? Some Verizon prepaid plans block call forwarding entirely. You can verify in the My Verizon app under Settings → Call Forwarding. If toggling there doesn't work either, contact Verizon support to enable forwarding at the account level.
- Visible vs. Verizon Postpaid: Visible (Verizon's MVNO) supports the same star codes but enforces a 24-hour activation delay on the first forwarding setup. Set it once, wait a day, then test.
- Cancel forwarding:
*73cancels all forwarding (CFU + CFB + CFNA together).
How to use these with VettedCalls
VettedCalls is an AI call-screening service. When you sign up, we provision a dedicated screening number for your business. You then dial one of these forwarding codes from your cell, replacing NUMBER with your VettedCalls number. After that, every unknown caller routes through VettedCalls' AI — real customers reach you with name, intent, and urgency; spam stops at the gate.
