VettedCalls sits between your cell and everyone who calls it. Once forwarding is on, every call comes to us first, and your cell itself shouldn't ring. We check who's calling, put the real callers through to you in the Cloud Softphone app, and pick up the pieces when you can't answer.
Each feature below gets one card. The ones with a link have a page of their own with the details; the rest are short enough to explain right here. The tag on each card says which plans have it: Pro or Receptionist. What each plan costs, and the minutes it includes, is on the pricing page.

Call screening
A caller we don't know hears a greeting in your business name and is asked who's calling and how we can help. An AI reads the answer, the caller presses 1 or 2 to be put through, and a call where nobody presses a key ends there.
How call screening works -
Receptionist
AI receptionist
In business hours your phone rings for 12 seconds, and if you don't pick up, the AI does (a priority call or a saved contact goes to voicemail instead). It gets the caller's name and reason, confirms their callback number by its last four digits, and asks what days work. The appointment itself is yours to confirm on the callback.
What the AI receptionist says -
Every plan
Voicemail to text
Each voicemail reaches you three ways: a text alert, an email with the transcript and a play link, and an entry in your dashboard. Unless your trade starts with the short alert, the text quotes the caller whenever the transcript lands inside 15 seconds; later than that, it's a short alert. Attorney accounts have transcription switched off, so they play the recording instead of reading it.
What happens after a missed call -
Receptionist
Call recording
Calls that connect to you are recorded, both sides, by default. Recording starts only after the caller hears “Connecting you now. This call may be recorded.” There's a switch in dashboard settings to turn it off.
Recording, notice and consent -
Every plan; calls on Receptionist
Call transcripts
A recorded call gets a transcript split into Caller and You lines, plus a summary of one or two sentences, and both are kept in your call log for 90 days. Calls the AI answers show up in the dashboard's AI call history with a summary and transcript.

Missed call text back
Miss a caller who pressed 1 and we text them that you're sorry you missed the call, with a short reason and the number you'll call back from. Callers who pressed 2 don't get it, and neither does a priority call.
The text, plus six you can send yourself -

AI auto attendant
The greeting, the question and the press 1 or 2 step, answered in your business name on the cell number you already have. It asks who's calling and why, where a phone tree would read a menu.

Shared spam registry
One spam list across every VettedCalls customer. A number is blocked for everyone once it has 10 counted flags, and one account's flags count at most once per 24 hours. A registry entry lasts 30 days, and each new call from that number starts the 30 days over.

Priority Passthrough
Priority Passthrough lets customers who say one of your selected priority words ring straight through to you, regardless of the time of day. Six priority words count everywhere (urgent, emergency, help, asap, right now, today), plus defaults for your trade and up to 20 of your own. A priority call skips the text question and rings you right away, for up to 40 seconds.

Saved contacts
People you save skip screening and ring you around the clock. Add them in the dashboard, import them, save them from the call log, or text a command from your cell. The contacts already on your phone don't carry over until you add them.

Weekly on Pro; daily on Receptionist
Text summaries
Pro gets a summary text on Mondays. Receptionist gets one at 7am your time covering yesterday's calls. It counts calls, spam blocked, calls connected, calls the AI answered, voicemails and priority calls, and it skips days with no calls.

The whisper
When you answer a screened call, you hear the caller's name and reason read aloud, then a beep, then the caller. For a priority call it starts with “Priority call.” so you know what you're walking into before the caller is put through.

Text commands
From your own cell, text your VettedCalls number STATUS for today's numbers, HOURS 8-18 to set weekday hours, or UNBLOCK with a number to take it off the shared registry. You can require a PIN on the commands that change settings.

Pro add-on
Team answering
Add up to 4 more people for $10 a month each. Everyone's phone rings together and you share the minutes. Each person gets a Cloud Softphone login and activation link of their own, and the first person to answer gets the call.
Which plan has what
Screening, the shared spam registry, Priority Passthrough, voicemail transcripts and missed-call texts are on every plan. Pro has no AI receptionist, so a call you miss goes to voicemail. Receptionist adds the AI receptionist, call recording with transcripts, and the 7am summary. Team answering, an add-on to Pro, gives more people a login of their own. Receptionist is coming soon, and Pro is available now.
If spam is the main problem and you answer most of your own calls, start with Pro. If you miss calls because you're on a job or with a client, the AI receptionist is the reason to look at Receptionist. The pricing page has the numbers, and if you're weighing us against a live answering service, our answering service page covers that.
